I haven't had much chance to read or watch movies lately, so here are my top 13 favorite sports movies of all time:
1. Remember the Titans - got to love a true story.
2. Rocky IV - Rocky helped define the genre (the whole Rocky series belongs on this list, but IV was the best).
3. Pistol Pete - Birth of a Legend - a must-see for all short white kids who like to play basketball.
4. Glory Road - another true story - in Texas, no less.
5. Rudy - He had heart.
6. Miracle - another true story - this time on hockey.
7. Cinderella Man - boxing in the Great Depression.
8. Chariots of Fire - the man had principles.
9. Field of Dreams - I wish I had my own baseball diamond.
10. Invincible - Marky Mark stars as a walk-on to the Philadelphia Eagles - another true story.
11. Facing the Giants - great low-budget high school football film.
12. Friday Night Lights - Those rural Texans are crazy about high school football.
13. Hoosiers - another fun basketball movie.
14. Karate Kid - Daniel-son rocks.
For clarification, this sports genre list does not include documentaries (like Hoop Dreams or Step Into Liquid) or action dramas that are not really sports (Touching the Void - rock climbing or Gladiator - gladiating).

What about the Sandlot, another classic. I would put that above Friday Night Lights.
I was left uninspired by the Sandlot. Even though Friday Night Lights was not inspiring either, I thought that at least it told a very interesting story.
My order would be a little different. My top 5: Hoosiers easily #1, since basketball is my favorite sport and it's such a great story. #2, Chariots of Fire; #3, Field of Dreams; #4, The Natural; #5, Searching for Bobby Fischer. I guess Rocky 1 would be a close 6th. The rest from your list I don't particularly care for, except the ones I haven't seen. I actually haven't seen Rocky IV, and I desperately need to.
I haven't seen Pistol Pete, and would love to see that. I hate Notre Dame football, so don't want to see Rudy out of principle. Alice decided to see Hoop Dreams after I told her how much I liked it, and she really enjoyed it, too. Hoop Dreams goes right up there with my top 5.
You forgot Benchwarmers and Dodgeball! They were actually kind of funny. Others to mention: Space Jam, Cool Runnings, Seabiscuit, Water Boy and Happy Gilmore, Kicking and Screaming, The Love Bug. Another movie people don't even know about is The World's Greatest Athlete, a 70's movie by Disney that is good, but also hilarious on the unintentional comedy scale.
I have a huge list of sports movies I really want to see, including the aforementioned at the top and the original Bad News Bears and A League of Their Own.
