Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
3.5 stars out of 5
Harrison Ford is out with his latest Indiana Jones adventure, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It's important that you go into all Indiana Jones films with the proper expectations. George Lucas did write these films - the same guy that does Star Wars - not your regular action/adventure movies. So yes, there is action, but there is a lot of totally unbelievable sci-fi. The plot turns are quite random, and the writing is definitely suspect. But if you go in with these things in mind, it is an enjoyable ride.
I really enjoyed Shia LeBeouf (I had to pull up IMDB to spell this name) as Indiana's son. He is becoming a mainstream star after the Transformers movies and a couple of others. He does quite well in his role, and Harrison Ford fits comfortably in his role. The rest of the cast is passable and makes the most of some of the silly lines they are given.
Just remember - you're not supposed to believe that Indiana Jones is really an architect - just play along. Architects hate how they portray him. And even though he is 60+, you should also believe he is able to pull off the various stunts and fights he gets in (his stunt double does fine). Just don't expect a realistic story and I think you will enjoy.

I thought he was supposed to be an archeologist?
Yes, he is supposed to be one, but to enjoy the movie you can't think to yourself: "Would a real archeologist do that?" because the answer is almost surely "No way Jose".
