This is my kind of book. Larry Sabato is thinking outside the box on how the Constitution can be improved. His book is full of 23 proposals to revise the Constitution. Some are out there. Some are ready to be approved right now. Each has careful analysis, which you may or may not agree with.
He also includes results of public opinion surveys which rate the different ideas in the book. The book is well documented and the footnotes are actually interesting to read. I was highly entertained by this thought-provoking book. It would be great if we had a new Constitutional Convention and revised the Constitution. Rather than let the Supreme Court run amok with it, we the people can send delegates to fix it. Well worth a read.

A very useful site to go to in learning about an Article V Convention is www.foavc.org. You can read the actual texts of the applications from the states to Congress. In all,Congress has received more than 650 applications from all 50 states more than 20 times the number required by the Constitution to compel a convention. The Constitution states if 34 states apply with 34 applications, Congress must call. It has not.
Mr. Sabato does not discuss this important aspect of the convention call in his book. Why does Congress maintain it has the right to disobey the Constitution? FOAVC does discuss it in very great detail. Please take time to go to the site and learn the facts. Thank you.
